An Assembly with an Outcome

Joint meeting commemorating Rotary Awareness month
Rotaractors organize and execute a variety of projects on the six areas of focus of Rotary and having their bi-weekly meetings is the main aspect that lays the foundations for that to be successful. However meetings shouldn’t be only about club business but can have amazing outcomes in terms of getting to know other Rotaract clubs and understanding and celebrating the fruits of Rotary as well. It is with this in mind Rotaract club of Lewet organized a joint meeting commemorating Rotary foundation month on the 11ith of January with Rotaract club of Ra’ey and Rotaract club of Solyana. But this meeting was special of all with the accidental joining of other clubs who heard about the assembly including RC Abugida who came in big numbers, and representatives from RC Mella, RC Habesha and RC Finot with the presence of ADRR’s and the Country Chair of Ethiopia which made it even more lively as well. Hence, the meeting was a perfect timing to give the six month report the three Presidents of the clubs gave and discussions on their project execution experience, fundraising, PR and other Rotaract matters went underway as each of the clubs shared what they have done this past six month as we are entering into the second half of the Rotary Year. Afterwards, the other outcome of the meeting was of course to celebrate the month of January as the ROTARY FOUNDATION MONTH which made it even more special as the special guest of the day IPCC Abenezer Feleke gave a presentation on the foundation of Rotary, its principles, the worldwide distribution, areas of focus and even about the history and contributions of the Rotary Foundation which gave valuable knowledge to the many guests and over 100 Rotaractors present on that day. Club performance reports and District matters were also shared from the ADRR’s and the CC on the next activities to implement for the remaining of the Rotary Year. Finally after a group photo, coffee fellowship took place at Sunbird Café with many clubs getting to know each other and having fun making it one of the very successful joint meetings that took place not only as an assembly but an assembly full of multiple and positive outcomes of experience sharing, knowledge dump about Rotary and getting to know each other as Rotaractors always do in Fellowship and Service!
