ROTARY IS 110 YEARS – 23 February 2015

When Paul Percy Harris got together with three of his friends for lunch on a cold and windy winter afternoon in Chicago on this day in 1905, he would never have dreamt that it will become an international organisation of business and professional persons represented in more than 200 countries. Rotary today boasts a membership of 1.2 million men and women United in the ideal of service around the world. Rotary is a non- political and non- religious organisation bringing together the best of people of various faiths; muslims, Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Animist and other faiths for the sole purpose of doing good in the world.
This year the greatest public public partnership for health ; the quest to eradicate polio from the face of the earth initiated by Rotary has been going on for 30 years. We are almost there, indeed 99% there. We continue to work to ensure the job is done. Currently Nigeria has recorded no case of polio in almost 7 months. Being a Rotaract is indeed a previlage. Happy Anniversary everyone!
